«Complete Vocal technique is a pioneering and innovative approach, highly useful for anyone interested in the voice, professionals as well as beginners. The techniques can be used in all styles of singing. This book is based on the most current and updated research in vocal technique. ’Complete Vocal Technique’ is recommended by singers, singing teachers, actors, speech therapists and doctors internationally» – From the book Complete Vocal Technique.
Complete Vocal Technique is the culmination of renowned Danish voice researcher Cathrine Sadolin’s 25 years of experience in working with the voice. The technique has the backing of speech therapists and ENT doctors.
In CVT, all sounds are considered valuable; restrictive ‘sound ideals’ are removed to allow the singer/speaker to make the artistic choices they wish. CVT includes tools to perform healthily all the sounds in the voice that have been encountered over years of acoustic and anatomical research, including ‘rough’-sounding vocal techniques, like distortion. Worldwide, there are 294 authorised teachers working in 20 countries on 4 continents, the largest group of authorised teachers in a unified voice teaching method.
FULL COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this course, you will have the chance to deepen your understanding of the voice, and work in a friendly and encouraging group setting on vocal technique, ask any questions you might have, and also enjoy individual coaching, helping you trouble-shoot and solve vocal problems faster and putting you on the right track with your vocal and performance goals. FOR WHOM?
The workshop is aimed for anyone 18 and older who has a personal goal in connection with the voice and wishes to learn a new vocal technique. Whatever your experience and musical style (pop, classical, rock, etc.) you will be served as Katja adapts his teaching to your needs and your goals. An open, active and encouraging participation are desirable qualities!
The workshop will be in English, but all the tables of the method will be displayed in French. Moreover, Katja knows somewhat our language, having already spoken it several years ago. The perfect bilingualism is not required: the key is to understand English and can be expressed in simple language. Some words or phrases can be translated if desired.
We will ask you to prepare the workshop by thinking about your needs. For example you can answer the following questions:
- What am I satisfied and why am I not completely happy about my voice?
- What aspect of my song (or my speaking voice) would I like to change or experiment?
- What voice style or color would I like to develop?
- What are my questions about the voice? What subject would I like to see depth in the workshop?
